The Nintendo DS line would come to be the successor of Nintendo's GameBoy line as its initial introduction incorporated backwards compatibility with GBA ROMs until the eventual release of the Nintendo DSi. This handheld had a variety of capabilities such as dual screen play,
a touch screen, microphone, and WiFi connectability. To this date the Nintendo DS has been the number one handheld in terms of overall sales and second in terms of overall console sales, falling short behind the Playstation 2.
